This service logs unique client access requests, in the form of IP addresses and user names, of installed products and roles on the local server. This information can be queried, via Powershell, by administrators needing to quantify client demand of server software for offline Client Access License CAL management. If the service is disabled, client requests will not be logged and will not be retrievable via Powershell queries. Stopping the service will not affect query of historical data see supporting documentation for steps to delete historical data.
The local system administrator must consult his, or her, Windows Server license terms to determine the number of CALs that are required for the server software to be appropriately licensed; use of the UAL service and data does not alter this obligation. Provides apps access to structured user data, including contact info, calendars, messages, and other content. If you stop or disable this service, apps that use this data might not work correctly.
Handles storage of structured user data, including contact info, calendars, messages, and other content. User Manager provides the runtime components required for multi-user interaction.

The Windows biometric service gives client applications the ability to capture, compare, manipulate, and store biometric data without gaining direct access to any biometric hardware or samples.
Helps guard against intrusion attempts targeting known and newly discovered vulnerabilities in network protocols. Windows Encryption Provider Host Service brokers encryption related functionalities from third-party Encryption Providers to processes that need to evaluate and apply EAS policies.
Stopping this will compromise EAS compliancy checks that have been established by the connected Mail Accounts. Allows errors to be reported when programs stop working or responding and allows existing solutions to be delivered. Also allows logs to be generated for diagnostic and repair services. If this service is stopped, error reporting might not work correctly and results of diagnostic services and repairs might not be displayed.
The data is used to diagnose crash-inducing bugs, which may include security bugs. Also needed for Corporate Error Reporting. This service manages persistent subscriptions to events from remote sources that support WS-Management protocol. The service stores forwarded events in a local Event Log.
If this service is stopped or disabled event subscriptions cannot be created and forwarded events cannot be accepted. Collects ETW events including security events for manageability, diagnostics. Lots of features and third-party tools rely on it, including security audit tools. This service manages events and event logs.
It supports logging events, querying events, subscribing to events, archiving event logs, and managing event metadata. It can display events in both XML and plain text format. Stopping this service may compromise security and reliability of the system.
Windows Firewall helps protect your computer by preventing unauthorized users from gaining access to your computer through the Internet or a network.
Optimizes performance of applications by caching commonly used font data. Applications will start this service if it is not already running. It can be disabled, though doing so will degrade application performance. Server doesn't support flighting, so it's a no-op on Server. Feature can be disabled via GP as well. This service is started on demand and if disabled then content acquired through the Microsoft Store will not function properly.

Do you mean you cannot see the server in the explorer menu when clicking on the "Network" tab or just not able to ping the server from the workstation? When taking out a domain controller there are a few things that if you miss can have you scratching your head, particularly DNS. On one of your other domain controllers, run "netdom query fsmo" to see if the server is still holding any roles, if all 5 roles are on either the or server you on the right track.
Then you need to check DNS on both the and server have the respective Name Servers for both the forward and reverse lookup zones.
You will also have to go through each server as every server should have a statically assigned IP. If you still want to check something dont leave the server off for more than days as it will cause a tombstone.
As I wrote, servers are working now without problems, business go next, issue is and its not big issue that servers are not visible in network places.
Clients computers are visible, this issue regards servers only. I wanted to know which service on old DC can discovery servers without needs of running of services which I have to start now on every server.
My MSP said that was normal and you won't see them. Said that's the way it is now. This doesn't explain your situation of course but I thought it was weird.
PlayStation and Xbox can also be security hardened by not depending on UPnP, as the port forwarding configurations are set in the home router, hence the complexity of configuration only has to happen once. Julia Sowells has been a technology and security professional.

February 20, by Julia Sowells 0 What are the other uses of SSDP service? I have Win Std with AD installed. What have I done wrong? Wednesday, 12 March PM. There are three network discovery states: On This state allows your computer to see other network computers and devices and allows people on other network computers to see your computer.
Off This state prevents your computer from seeing other network computers and devices and prevents people on other network computers from seeing your computer.
Custom This is a mixed state in which some settings related to network discovery are enabled, but not all of them. For example, network discovery could be turned on, but you or your system administrator might have disabled a firewall exception that affects network discovery Network discovery requires that the dnscache DNS Client Service , fdrespub Function Discovery Resource Publication Service , ssdpsrv SSDP Discovery Service , and upnphost UPnP Device Host Service services are started, that the Windows Firewall exception for network discovery is enabled, and that other firewalls are not interfering with network discovery.
Monday, 17 March AM. Thursday, 13 March PM. Thanks for the reply It is listed as "custom". I have tried all of these suggestions but I still cannot see the Win Server. Any other suggestions?
