Rugby games in ireland 2012
McGrath's final two seasons were disrupted by a string of injuries, most notably when he suffered a torn cruciate in the Super 8s defeat to Mayo. Mark Allen says the "shackles are off" as he reveals he will stay in the game following a successful court ruling.
Ulster defence coach and former player Jared Payne will leave the Irish province at the end of the season. View more on twitter. Top Stories. Djokovic in draw as decision looms. Root wants Silverwood to remain in charge.
Newcastle sign striker Wood from Burnley. A quiet word to "use it" will usually suffice. In the midst of that French move Bowe nearly made another interception. That's a let-off for Ireland.
It stays France Ireland. Unfortunately the picture I'm watching is reliant on a French director who thinks he's Francois Truffaut so apologies if the identity of certain players is mixed up. It's all upshots and moody lighting with this guy. What a brilliant try from Tommy Bowe. Earls handed off right on the touchline. From a French point of view he's got to be knocked into touch but Bowe ambled forwards, chipped over Malzieu, collected the pass, dummied and crossed for his second try of the game.
Sexton's kick just about drifts over thanks to some late fade and it's France Ireland. Ireland have never led at half time in France. They've broken that record now. It's been a great performance so far, full of intensity and purpose. Can they keep it up? We shall see. Can Ireland maintain the level of intensity, concentration and effort? Can France find any intensity, concentration and effort? France are pushing now with Murray and Sexton excelling in defence.
The fling the ball right to Rougerie but his pass to Poitrenaud is so so careless and the France No15 can't gather and knocks on. Big scrum for Ireland. Rougerie then tries to break through midfield, is held up and there is no advantage so Parra will kick at goal Parra's left footed kick from 15m inside the left touchline just drifts between the sticks and the Ireland lead is now eight points.
I have barely mentioned him today but Fofana is the France danger man and he has his third try in three games. It's sent upstairs for some reason - he was nowhere near touch and the ball was cleanly grounded - and unsurprisingly the try is awarded. I don't know what Ireland were playing at in midfield - there was a loose ball which Earls tried to kick ahead rather than drop on.
He missed, it was popped into Fofana's hands and he raced clear. France forge forward and have a penalty. Parra will shoot for goal but it's a long way out. Ireland are being dominated now. Great kick from Parra.
It slots right between the sticks and it's level but Ireland are flagging. Donnacha Ryan comes on for O'Callaghan. They desperately need some fresh impetus and aggression in the front eight.
That's the end of his game and possibly his Six Nations and Eoin Reddan is on. This is set up for a French victory or Ronan O'Gara heroics. Vote now to decide. It's still reasonably effective as Rory Best turns over. A typically defiant break from Kearney launches an Ireland attack, their first real foray forward this half. Parra brings down Sexton. Ferris then makes a break, tries to keep the ball alive and the last touch is from a man in blue and Ireland have the lineout 10 metres from the French line.
This is a good passage from Ireland and they've reversed the momentum of the opening 25 minutes of the half. They've yet to make it count on the scoreboard. That could be a big big moment. Nil points from that five minute period of dominance. It's another wonderful take from the immense Kearney - that's his third outrageous catch of the game. This one was so much Harinordoquy's ball it may as well have been in his living room, but Kearney gathered and Ireland attack before Earls is knocked into touch.
Sexton chips into the 22 and Poitrenaud claims. Ireland have the ball and need points. Three points, five points, seven points. Can they succeed where Ireland failed and get points on the board? No is the answer as Beauxis tries a drop goal from a long way out but a three-;egged Jack Russell would get closer than that effort.
That's sloppy and France can surge again with a lineout on the Ireland France set-up another drop goal attempt for Beauxis but Ferris is on him like a shot and charges it down. Ireland need to be disciplined here. They are. Ireland win a penalty as the French fail to release on the ground and O'Gara can clear to halfway.
That's brilliant defending. At least they do until Heaslip loses it and France have the scrum just inside the Ireland half. One last final test of Ireland's defence and discipline. Time is up. France are too far out for a drop goal so will have to make considerable ground or hope for a penalty. France work the overlap on the left and Malzieu bursts for the line but more great and desperate Irish tackling forces him out of play and that is that Full time: France Ireland.
After all that it's a draw. Maybe they could have just agreed that after the first game was called off? The real winners in this are Wales. It was desperate defending in the end to hold on to the draw, but after having a lead at the interval a near 10 minute spell of possession and territory when the scores were at 17 all the opportunity was there to claim victory.
All in all it was another great game. That's it from me.
