Feel great. Once the device is completeley off, press and hold the volume-up button then press and release the power button. The Surface logo will appear.

You can let go of the volume-up button at this point. Once you are in the UEFI, try to navigate through the menu using the touchpad or the arrow keys on the keyboard, and check if the LED light for the Fn and Caps key will work. A replacement would be necessary to fully resolve this.

Press and hold the volume-up button on your Surface and at the same time, press and release the power button. The Microsoft or Surface logo appears on your screen. Continue to hold the volume-up button. Release the button once the UEFI screen appears. You can also investigate 3rd party type covers that use Bluetooth. I tried updating the driver but nothing happened.

I've tried everything that was on Microsoft webpages regarding my issue. I think it is not a hardware issue! Microsoft should find a solution since it happened with an update it can be fixed with another one!

Same kind of problem with a Surface Pro 3, after one update or battery drain, I'm not sure what causes the problem. This is not generic hardware, this is Microsoft hardware and software, so it's reveals what is the value of Microsoft nowadays I looked into this over 6 months ago with my business partner suffering a sudden typecover fail, after all the witch docter suggestions, endless forum opinions and claimed fixes, typecover swaps, driver checks, cleaning contact points and studying microsoft "help" reimage solutions etc and finally discovering UEFI non respondent overnight I came to this exact same conclusion - so we set up a bluetooth keyboard and thought hopefully they will roll out a fix because there is no doubt this is directly related to their own update program or possibly permanent damage has occurred to the hardware due to the firmware update process which is not being acknowledged.

I will not be looking for a refurb, nor looking at the newer models. What a joke. I have installed Windows 10 creaters update version , build However, keyboard is not detected. Did you follow any additional steps to make the keyboard work? This thread is locked.
